Here is the ranking system so far. Since there are so many ties after 6 points, I am only going to go through the top 13. My tie-breaker system is still very much in a draft form. In regard to the tie between Jake Nebel, Paul Tyger and Tyler Cook: I used Jake's octas win to break the tie. Concerning the tie between Paul and Tyler: Tyler lost to the eventual tournament winner (Grapevine), therefore, I am giving him a higher rank than Paul. Additionally, Danielle Smogard and Chris Theis were tied; I gave preference to Danielle because she was in finals of a tournament whereas Chris was in semis. Adam Silver is given a higher rank than seeds 10-13 because he won a tournament, whereas they were in quarters of an octas bid.
1. Ryan Bennett (Southlake Carroll, TX, '09) - 12 Points
2. Devin Race (Westlake, TX, '09) - 11 Points
3. Jake Nebel (Trinity Prep, FL, '09) - 10 Points
4. Tyler Cook (Salado, TX, '09) - 10 Points
5. Paul Tyger (Strake Jesuit, TX, '09 - 10 Points
6. Shivani Vohra (Hockaday, TX, '09) - 9 Points
7. Danielle Smogard (Greenhill, TX, '09) - 8 Points
8. Chris Theis (Apple Valley, MN, '09) - 8 Points
9. Adam Silver (Bronx Science, NY, '09) - 6 Points
10 - 13. Daniel Garber, Catherine Tarsney, Ken Hershey, David Mcneil - 6 Points

I still like the Holguin/Nebel system better.
Bid Multiplier = (Total tournament bids)/(Number of debaters left standing at a given rank or round)
So if I were to win Greenhill, I would get 16/1 points. If I were in quarters, I would get 16/8 points.
The larger gap between rankings in this system may decrease the amount of ties after a couple tournaments.
It would makes the point system 100% consistent b/c of a set formula.
Re: BakeryJake
This blog has created a ranking system for this season. It seems slightly more complex than the system you proposed:

Check it out.
